Community Events
Every year family, friends and generous members of the community organize their own events to support the awareness of and raising funds for Ovarian Cancer.
Tea for Teal Event: members of the community gather in friendship and/or interest groups to share with each other over a 'cuppa' and treats while also raising funds for ovarian cancer research. As a Teal for Tea Host you'll ...
1. Choose a date and write a guest list.
2. Download invitations and posters from www.teaforteal.org.au and encourage all those invited to make a donation to help women with cancer.
3. Provide tea, coffee, sandwiches and biscuits for a donation.
4. Go to http://www.materfoundation.org.au/events-campaigns/feel-teal/tea-for-teal
for all information in regards to organization and donation payments.
High Tea at Victoria Park: This event was very special for many reasons. Firstly it was planned and hosted by Mary's eldest granddaughter Jessica, and secondly it was an event that brought 4 generations of women together; from age 8 to 80, reminding us that Ovarian Cancer does not discriminate.
Mary Lakey Race Day: Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Fundraising brings us together for a GREAT day at the races.
Game Days: Out come the cards, the board games and the competitive streak in all of us.
Gathering with Family and Friends in Your Home: Over the years we have been touched by the number of people who have opened their homes and their hearts to host morning or afternoon teas, formal dinners, cocktail parties. luau's and more.
Small Business support and sponsorship: We have been blessed to meet the most amazingly generous people just through our day to day visits to shops and cafes. Our hearts have been touched by the owners and staff of business such as Panda Pearls, Kylie's Beauty Room, SAABI, Rupert McCall, Greentree Kitchen, Queensland Rail
